Eid Mubarak

I had a wonderful Eid al-Adha weekend with my awesome family. We had a three day Eid extravaganza, with the first day at my parents' house, the second day at my uncle's house for lunch and dinner, and the third day at another uncle's house for dinner. MashAllah for fun family times! A belated Eid Mubarak to everyone!! Also, a belated Thanksgiving!

Eid Mubarak!!

Eid Mubarak!!!! (belated)

Eid is the celebration that marks the end of the month of Ramadan and the beginning of a new month. I had an awesome awesome Eid!! My parents hosted an entire day Eid party for the rest of our family and relatives. We had four lavish meals - breakfast, lunch, tea time, and dinner! It was great, even though, by dinner time we were pretty stuffed. My mom usually makes the Eid feasts, but had it catered for this Eid, and it was almost as good at my mom's food! It turned out to be convenient, because the whole preparing/cooking hassle was eliminated, and the cleaning afterwards was a quick job. I had prepared goody bags stuffed with chocolate and candy, and handed those out to all my little cousins. It was pretty late by the time everyone left, but the little cousins were having a blast, so decided to sleep over, except they didn't sleep until after the crack of dawn! And I ended up staying up for a good chunk of the night with them. The next day we headed over to my aunt and uncle's, who hosted a more low-key, day two of Eid. All in all, Eid was great.

It just didn't do much good for my waist line.

Security Alert!

Air travel these days can be a real pain with all those security scan procedures. I know they serve a purpose. I appreciate them. I do want air travel and everything else to be as safe as possible. Nonetheless, those multiple baggage and passenger scans are annoying..with shoes and belts being taken off..making for slow and crowded lines.

What I find super annoying is that list of prohibited items. Yes, explosives should be prohibited. By all means! However, do they really have to confiscate my toiletries? I have a couple of friends who have worked at Toronto's Pearson International Airport, who claimed to have received lots of confiscated freebies from travellers. Expensive perfumes. Little manicure kits. Sealed bottles of shampoo and bodywashes. All kinds of stuff.

Again, I realize that this growing list of prohibited items for hand or carry-on luggage and checked baggage is for the safety of the human race..the list wouldn't be so long if weren't for the haters. Let's give peace a chance. Please!

Dancing & Insanity

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music. ~Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche

First Post!!

I'm not sure what purpose this blog serves. Probably not much because I'm going to stay as anonymous as possible. Which means, I prob won't give fun little insights into my life, in fear of revealing myself. Okay, enough rambling. We'll see how it goes..
